I was born in London in 1985, and moved to South Oxfordshire where I grew up and went to school. My musical talent was recognised at an early age when at the age of 10, I was awarded the Burn Music cup. With a passion for choral singing I was later awarded the Bishops Choristers award, followed by the Royal Schools of Church Music top award, the St. Cecilia’s medal. In addition to this I was awarded a RSCM scholarship. I have sung in Christ Church Cathedral, Magdalen College Chapel and Queens College Chapel, in Oxford, Dorchester Abbey, Bath Abbey and Westminster Abbey.
Solo performances have included singing for the BBC carol services at Christmas, including one broadcast on Christmas day and solo track recordings for school choir and church choir CD’s. At the age of 16, I started training with Sara Reynolds at the Royal Academy of Music and here my love for singing developed and expanded, including into a large range of classical styles. Here I sang the part of the Countess in opera extracts from ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ by Mozart, Juliet in ‘The Little Sweep’ by Benjamin Britten, and Mrs Herring in ‘Albert Herring’, also by Britten.
I have enjoyed participating and won awards at music festivals in Oxford, Woking and Godalming, Other recent solo work includes performances at The Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall in York, London Fashion week, Chelsea Arts Club, Irish Embassy, The Duke’s Hall, David Josefowitz Hall, Royal Academy of Music, Reading Minster, Goring-on-Thames, Eastbourne and in presence of The Duke of Edinburgh. I have also sung the soprano parts in Haydn’s Nelson Mass, Bach’s St John’s Passion, Haydn’s Four Seasons, Faure’s Requiem and Allegri’s Misere. I have performed with John Potter, Emma Kirkby, Stephen Varvoe, I Fagiolini and The Kings Consort. I am a member of the Yorkshire Bach Choir conducted by Peter Seymour. I recently won the concerto prize at the University, allowing me to sing with the Chamber Orchestra in concert, and now on tour in Berlin. I also take great pleasure at singing at Weddings and other private events.
I am currently in my final year at the University of York reading music and studying singing with Lynne Dawson. I have sung in master classes with: Emma Kirkby, Robin Bowman, Henry Herford, Margaret Humphrey Clark, Elaine Kidd, Susan McCulloch, Yvonne Seymour and Mary Hammond.
